SURF RANCH · WEEKENDS FROM MANAGUA

A weekend from Managua to San Juan del Sur

Leave on Friday, keep Saturday for the activity you care about most and save Sunday for a relaxed breakfast. Here’s how to plan two nights as a couple or a family.

Before leaving Managua

Set Surf Ranch San Juan del Sur as your destination before leaving. The resort sits inland, about four minutes by car from town. The last half kilometre is on a compacted road. Plan a separate visit to town if you want to walk along the bay.

Check-in starts at 2 pm. If you expect to arrive early, ask that morning whether the room will be ready. A transfer from Managua airport is arranged separately. Confirm the details before travelling.

Friday · Arrive and settle in

Check in, leave your bags and head to the pool. With children, start at the splash pad and get your bearings before dinner. If you’re leaving Managua late, confirm your arrival time with reception.

Saturday · One outing and a free afternoon

After breakfast, choose the bay or a surf session as your main outing. For a lesson, confirm availability and transport with reception. If you’d rather stay in, the pool, skatepark and volleyball court are all onsite.

Sunday · Breakfast and the return trip

Have breakfast and pack before checkout, which is by noon. If you want lunch in San Juan del Sur, this is a good time to stop in town before driving back to Managua.

Saturday for couples or families

Habitación estándar en Surf Ranch

For couples · A morning in town

A standard room sleeps two. Check the available layout if you’d like a queen bed. Have breakfast at the resort, head into town for a walk by the bay and choose somewhere for lunch. Back at the resort, spend the afternoon in the pool or have a drink at the bar.

Condo en Surf Ranch

For families · Pool time with room for a nap

For two adults and two children, a condo fits all four with two queen beds and a private patio. A villa offers two bedrooms if one child naps. Start at the splash pad, have lunch together and return to the waterslide after a rest. An adult must supervise children around water and activity areas.

Breakfast or all-inclusive for two nights

Direct reservations include breakfast. If you’re planning Saturday lunch and dinner in town, this option leaves those meals open. For a weekend by the pool, all-inclusive covers three meals and the included drinks from 2 pm at check-in until noon at checkout.

For two adults, the direct upgrade of US$40 per adult per night comes to US$160 plus tax over two nights. For two adults and two children at the US$30 child rate, it comes to US$280 plus tax. That’s the upgrade on top of the room. Enter your dates and guests to compare the full stay price before paying.

If Friday becomes Saturday

With one night, you have the afternoon from 2 pm and the following morning until noon. Choose either a waterfront dinner or an evening at the resort on Saturday. On Sunday, allow time for breakfast and checkout before setting off for a beach visit or the drive back to Managua.

If you haven’t booked, search the new dates and compare the one-night total. If you’ve already paid for Friday and Saturday, review the change terms and contact reception with your confirmation before assuming the dates can move.
